gcf mailing list
The Graduate Christian fellowship has an email mailing list that we use to
send out announcements and general information about our group. If you
want to stay updated with upcoming events and everything else GCF related,
this is probably the best way to keep yourself informed. If you are interested
you'd like to join the email list, send an email to
and let us know that you'd like to be added.
Rules and information about the gcf-l listserve
The overall purpose of the listserv is to facilitate communication among
the members of the GCF community with the intent of strengthening our
relationships together; thereby making the body of Christ stronger. A
general rule of thumb should thus be that the messages help bring us
together and not divide us.
-With the general rule in mind, we encourage messages of the following
nature:
- Announcements of official GCF activities
- Coordination of social activities
- Announcements of special events that might be worthwhile
attending, relevant to either life as a Christian or life as an
academic-in-training
- Prayer needs and praises
- Asking for help (moving, finding a place to live, etc)
- Criticism of the group or members of the group should always be done on
a one-on-one basis rather than through the gcf-l list.
gcf discussion list
GCF also has an email list with the purpose of engaging in meaningful
discourse about many topics pertinent to Christians as
academics-in-training or as functioning members of society. If you are interested
you'd like to join the email list, send an email to
and let us know that you'd like to be added.
Rules and information about the gcf discussion listserve
We hope that all subscribers to this mailing list will anticipate disagreements and
will not assume anything posted on this list to necessarily be the views
of GCF as a whole. We also implore that all messages on this mailing list
be composed out of love and respect for the recipients even if we
sometimes do not love or respect the ideas we are responding to. As with the
general mailing list, criticism of the group or of individuals in the group
is off limits; this should always be done one-on-one.
Please, never forward an email from the mailing list to others not on the
mailing list with the names in the message stream still present (unless
you ask all the previous authors for permission). If possible, links to
interesting articles or web pages are preferred to avoid too much clutter.
Also, it is preferred that any forwards of emails, articles or web pages
be passed on with some introductory explanation about why the information
being distributed is interesting and relevant.
